The roll map created by the system described in Mapping is automatically transferred to the Optimization system when it is completed. The Optimization system automatically determines the optimum putup to achieve the maximum value from the roll consistent with the customer's quality requirements. The customer rule number is transferred in the header of the map.

The optimized map is reviewed and then released to Cutting.
